THEY CAME TO DOTHAN

On Sunday, May 24th, my sister & her hubby came for a visit with plans to stay until Friday morning. It had been a very long time since the two of them visited us, and we had a very nice time being together.

They left Bville Sunday after their two church worship services where David preaches and arrived at our house somewhere between 8:30 & 9:00 pm. It was truly a long day for them.

Monday was Memorial Day. Glenn had the day off from work so he & David along with our son Garrett played golf. While they played, Susan & I went grocery shopping. We were planning a hamburger/hot dog supper for the night. Garrett & Hannah joined us too. Garrett, Susan & I played Phase Ten.

Garrett called Tuesday morning to alert us that since rain was in sight, we might start moving them into their new apartment a day earlier. He was waiting on a call from the manager which came within the hour. David, Susan & I drove over to their apartment & began the transferring of packed boxes while Hannah worked hard at putting things in their place in their new apartment. We worked for about 3 hours and accomplished much. We saved the furniture for the next day.

Tired & tired from the morning's work, we had another task to complete before lunch & heading home. First, we dropped by Papa's house to pick up a fish cooker that he was giving to my sister & hubby. They had a nice little visit with him. Then we went to Rodeo's for a Mexican lunch...our favorite lunch.

We left the house @ 6:30 am and went back to Garrett/Hannah's apartment Wednesday morning. Our friend, Greg, went with us to help & brought along his trailer. Garrett & Hannah were ready too. He also had a trailer...borrowed from his cousin Ricky. These two trailers proved to be "what we needed".

There was furniture hauled from the old apartment to my house, furniture picked up at Hannah's mom's house for the new apartment & furniture hauled from the old apartment to the new apartment...even the washer & dryer. Whew!!! I'm tired again. BUT..............those 2 trailers, 4 men & 3 ladies worked hard and got everything settled in a short time.

Thursday night was a great night, just like Monday night, as we all got together again for supper. This time we went out to eat.

When we weren't helping Garrett/Hannah move or just sitting around chatting, Susan & I hit the roads to do a little "junkin" and even went to an estate sale.

There just seems to be a lot to do with a short amount of time when we get together. It's always nice to just sit & chat but "tooling around" is good too. Perhaps next time we'll have a longer visit.
